Build Management is the process of building the
components of code in a consistent and repeatable manner. While the Development Engineers build their individual pieces of code to
perform Unit Testing, only the Software Configuration Management Administrator
(SCMA) builds the official releases
released to the Software Quality Control (SQC) Team, and ultimately to
Production.
Key Benefits
- Consistent and repeatable build output ensures
reliability and reproducibility
- Builds can be scheduled in advance, be
performed "on-demand", or a combination of both
- Utilization of approved development tools
provides conformity between Development Engineers and the SCMA
